1.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" There was darkness. 'Tis the wind, and nothing more. Darkness and nothing more. Oh, once upon a midnight dreary—while I pondered, weak and weary—a curious forgotten lore… only this, and nothing more. I remember that bleak December. Eagerly, I wished the morrow. And, vainly I had sought to borrow… oh, such fucking sorrow. And, it thrilled me. And, it filled me. His eyes have all the seeming, of a demon that is dreaming. And, the lamp-light o'er him streaming, throws his shadow on the floor… oh, and nothing more. There is nothing more. Darkness and nothing more. Quote the raven. Darkness, and nothing more. Quote the raven, “never more”.
2.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Sleeper
" At midnight, in the month of June, I stand beneath the mystic moon. And, softly dripping—drop by drop—up on the quiet mountain top, an opiate vapor, dewy, dim, exhales from out her golden rim. With a quiet invite, just for me and never for, never just for him. What secrets shall I find within? Wrapping your fog around my breast, while hiding your love from all the rest. Encircled in fog, in my heart, in my chest. Hiding your love and secrets from the rest. I’m squinting closer… as I’m squinting closer, I see the lake. Though conscious slumber, seems to take, I must do my best to stay awake… to stay awake… to stay awake. Oh, lady bright can it be right, my window open to the night? Do I deserve such light?
3.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "Lenore
”
Hast thou no tear? Weep now or never more. Hast thou no fear? Worry now or never more. Shall we let the bell toll? Shall we let the bell toll? Shall we let the bell toll, or do we even have control? How shall the ritual be read? This requiem, how shall it be sung? We speak for us and for the dead. So, now sung, a Sabbath song. So, now done, it wasn’t wrong…. somehow, with life still there. Still now, upon her hair, with death’s lock on her eyes. No words shall bring her rise. No words shall bring her rise. Let no bell toll for her sweet soul. With no control over death’s toll. To friends above, from fiends below, a single dove, sent by a foe.
4.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "For Annie" Thank the heavens, the danger is past. And, the lingering illness is over at last. And, the fever called “living" is conquered, it's conquered at last. Thank the heavens, the danger is past… now, I’ll rest. This river, so cursed… quench all thirst, through the worst. So, now, now I rest.
5.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "The Valley of Unrest
“

Once, there slept a silent dell where no people chose to dwell. Instead, with chaos in their heads, none sleep in their beds. They started wars, counting the bullets, instead of stars… shooting bullets, instead of shooting stars. Nightly, from their tallest towers, keeping watch o’er the wilted flowers. No difference ‘tween night or day, the bodies piled up where they lay. The wind had stopped to wave the trees. The ocean crept back all of its seas. The sun took back all of its rays. All removed from all the days.
6.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "The City By the Sea"
On this day, Death reared himself a throne. In a strange site lying all alone, far down within the dark, dim West… where the worst shall find
eternal rest. Beneath the sky, the melancholy waters lie. Hidden from sun, you will not find any truth in an idol's diamond eye. Look, instead, into gaping graves, finding truth beneath luminous waves. With each swell, oh… you can tell, hell is rising, hell is rising, hell is rising!
7.
Beloved 03:35
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "TO F" Beloved, amid the earnest woes. That crowd around my earthly path… where grows, not even one lonely, lonely rose. An isle of which no one else goes. My soul at least, a solace hath… a solace hath. In dreams with thee, you’re holding me. And thy memory sinks into the sea. Some ocean throbbing, far and free. With storms, meanwhile, serenest skies continually. Beloved
8.
Lyrical inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe's "Eulalia" & "Dream Within a Dream" I dwelt alone, in a world of moan. And, my soul, a stagnant tide, ’till you—so gentle—became my bride. Now Pain, now doubt, come never again. Now Pain, now doubt, never come, never come again. Ah, less bright, the stars of night, than taking in, than taking in her sight. Sigh after sigh, together we shine in the sky. Sigh after sigh, together we shine in the sky. So, take this kiss upon the brow. And in parting, even from you now, this much let me avow: our eternity awaits, just not now.
